Kirstie Alley (January 12, 1951 - December 5, 2022) was an American actor and producer. Alley portrayed Rebecca Howe on NBC series Cheers.
About[]
Alley was raised Methodist, but had been a member of the Church of Scientology since 1979. She absolved from using drugs of any kind, and even shunned the practice of psychiatry, even portraying two different shrinks in Woody Allen's 1997 Deconstructing Harry and Dharma & Greg: The End of Innocence to denounce the practice. She was the only living actor who was a regular of Cheers never to appear on it's spin-off Frasier so as not to endorse psychiatry in any way; this was in large part due to her Scientology beliefs about psychiatry.[1] Alley's work also included the 1985 television movie A Bunny's Tale, the Look Who's Talking film series, the 1995 Olsen twins film It Takes Two and the television shows Veronica Closet and Fat Actress.
She died of colon cancer on December 5, 2022, aged 71.
