Tim was one of the regular barflies in the background, seen quite frequently through the series run.
In his first appearance, in "Coach's Daughter", he is worried about taking a job as a janitor at a biology lab where they do DNA experiments. Sam and the gang reassure him that it doesn't sound so bad - but after he leaves, everyone hurries to clean and disinfect everything he touched (this comic bit was rehashed in the season 1 finale, "Show Down, Part 2").
